1. What is VU Talkies?

VU Talkies is a boutique film studio with two primary verticals:

  • VU Talkies Post House – A dedicated arm offering specialized post-production consultancy and management services.

  • VU Talkies Entertainment – Our full-fledged film production wing, focused on developing, producing, and delivering feature films, web series, and documentaries.

 

2. What kind of projects does VU Talkies take on?

We focus on any stories that engages and entertains people in the space of films, web series, mini-webseries and documentaries.

 

3. Is script registration mandatory before submission?

Yes. We require all scripts or concepts to be officially registered before submission. This is an essential step to protect your intellectual property and aligns with standard industry protocols.

 

4. Can I pitch a concept without a completed script?

Sometimes accepted if there’s a well-developed treatment, concept note or pilot episode (for series).

5. How can I pitch a project to VU Talkies?

We do not accept full scripts in the initial stage. We also do not consider unregistered scripts. Please register your work before reaching out.
 

To submit a pitch:

  • Use the subject line: PITCH – [Your Project Title]

  • Share a concise pitch deck highlighting your project’s core vision and commercial potential.

 

Important:

  • We only respond to shortlisted pitches.

  • If shortlisted, we will request a 5–8 page synopsis as the next step.

  • A narration session and e-meet may follow.

  • Final evaluation will require submission of the full script with dialogues.

6. What should I include in my pitch?

A well-structured pitch deck should cover:

  • Project Language and Genre

  • Logline (1-2 sentence hook)

  • One-page synopsis or concept note

  • Treatment Note

  • Writer’s/Director’s vision

  • Visual mood board or reference material (if available)

  • Target audience insights

  • Creator’s bio

  • Link to sample previous work (short film / scene / past project) (if available)

  • Cast & Crew Summary (if available)

  • Budget overview or funding expectations (if applicable)

 

7. Does VU Talkies offer GAP funding?

Yes. We consider GAP financing for projects that are already in production with a significant portion of funding secured. Our aim is to offer strategic support to help complete such projects.

 

8. How can I collaborate with VU Talkies as a creative?

9. Does VU Talkies co-produce or partner with other studios or producers?

Yes, VU Talkies is open to co-productions and strategic collaborations that align with our creative and commercial values. We believe in collaborative filmmaking and are always excited to join hands with like-minded partners.

 

10. Are there opportunities for international collaborations?
Absolutely. We are open to cross-cultural co-productions and collaborations with international producers, film labs, and festival development programs.

 

11. Is VU Talkies involved in content beyond cinema?

While our primary focus is production and post-production, we are expanding our horizons into distribution & creative formats including book adaptations, visual art collaborations, and new media ventures. We’re always curious about bold new ideas and formats.
